Inclusion criteria were the diagnosis of primary nocturnal enuresis based on the book by Nelson and approval of a specialist in pediatric urinary tract. Lifestyle Changes To Manage Bedwetting
Certain lifestyle changes may help end bedwetting. For adults, setting limits on fluid intake plays a large part in controlling bedwetting. Try not to drink water or other liquids within a few hours of bedtime to reduce the risk of having an accident.
Drink the majority of your daily fluid requirements before dinnertime, but dont limit your overall intake of liquids. This will ensure that your bladder is relatively empty before bedtime. For children, limiting fluids before bedtime has not been shown to reliably decrease bedwetting.
Try to also cut out caffeinated or alcoholic drinks in the evening. Caffeine and alcohol are bladder irritants and diuretics. Theyll cause you to urinate more.

This does not mean that the actual size of the bladder is smaller in nocturnal enuresis patients, rather that their functional bladder capacity is a smaller volume. The FBC is the amount of urine the bladder holds before sending a signal to the brain to indicate the need to void. The overactivity of the detrusor muscle indicates that the muscle is never fully relaxed during the filling phase and therefore the bladder capacity is not as large.
An infection in the urine can sometimes cause bed wetting. Stress or anxiety can also cause the problem, which might last long after the stress has gone.

- The dose is adjusted until effective. Once it is working, the dose is tapered if possible. When compared with alarm devices, however, approximately 60% of patients will return to bedwetting when DDAVP administration is stopped.

Types Of Nocturnal Enuresis
Persistent Primary Nocturnal Enuresis is a condition which starts during childhood, where night time dryness has not been achieved for longer than six months. Adult Onset Secondary Enuresis is defined as nocturnal enuresis in which night time dryness has been achieved at some point in life.
