    Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues. It can help with:

    • Mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder
    • Difficult life events, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress
    • Difficult emotions for example, low self-esteem or anger
    • As well as many other issues
  • Identify your anxiety triggers everybodys anxiety is caused by different things. If you know what your triggers are, then hopefully you can then minimise or remove them from your routine. Some examples of general triggers include driving/travelling, phobias, caffeine and work-related stress.51
  • My Favorite Ways To Use Essential Oils For Anxiety Are:

    • Unscrew the top and sniff right out of the bottle.
    • Drop 1 drop of oil into the palms of your hands, rub them together and then cup your hands around your mouth and nose and take some big deep breaths. Bonus if you can add in an affirmation here. I like to say, I am safe. However you can choose an affirmation that will comfort you the most..or say nothing and just breathe!
    • Drop a few drops into your diffuser. Diffusing is great at any time of day, if youre needing to calm down and have support falling asleep at night its great for that, but its also great to diffuse during the day to keep you calm and relaxed.
    • And of course, making roller bottles Ill share a few great oils for anxiety in a moment but just like I mentioned about how essential oils can ease anxiety because the sense of smell is connected to the part of our brain where emotions are controlled, that means that if there is any essential oil that smells good to you and makes you feel calm and less anxious or even happy and energized, you should definitely use it!

    All oils have a smell therefore all of them can reach our limbic system.;

    There are no oils that are off limits for supporting the ease of anxiety, if it feels calming and supportive, use it!;

    So take some oils you love the smell of and make you happy and pop them all in a roller together!

    Essential oil from lavender is one of the best essential oils for lowering anxiety levels and relieving stress.

    The journal Mental Health Clinician reported that lavender essential oil has many anxiolytic benefits. Compounds in lavender oil such as linalool and linalyl acetate inhibit neuroreceptors that are associated with anxiety. Inhaling lavender oil aromas has a calming effect without acting as a sedative.

    A review of its calming properties found that lavender oil is a relaxing essential oil that helps protect the nervous system. Inhaling lavender scent is good for anxiety as it helps to reduce agitation, treat social anxiety disorders, and has an anti-depressant effect.

    How To Use These Essential Oils

    There are multiple ways to use essential oils, for a full guide on how to use them check out my How to Use Essential Oils post. But for today, were talking about how to specifically use oils for anxiety. Here are my favorite ways to use these oils, I would not recommend internal consumption for these unless they are the vitality line by Young Living.

  • Aromatically This may be the most well known way to use essential oils. Take a few drops from the bottle into the palm of your hands. Cup your hands around your mouth and nose and take deep breaths in of the oil.
  • Topically ;this is the most popular way to use it. Place on your head , behind ears, wrists or on the;vita flex points. You can dilute the oil with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil to reduce the strength or smell of the oil if its too much.
  • Diffusing Blends Through a diffuser youre able to fill the air with the essence of that essential oil allowing it to get into your lungs and therefore your blood stream. Be sure to look at your diffuser to get the correct water to oil ratio. Usually it is 3-4 drops of essential oil for every 100 ml . However this can be changed based on how strong you want the scent or how big your diffuser is.
